Edward Hall, MS, CSP
Ed has more than 17 years of diverse loss control and safety management experience, with a particular emphasis in managing worker safety risks in healthcare and industrial sectors. He has expertise in patient safety, loss control, and strategic planning.
Ed is nationally recognized for his leadership in developing and implementing innovative loss control risk management programs resulting in dramatic and immediate savings. Ed is one of the few national lead consultants who secured Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) status, given by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). VPP status is awarded when an organization achieves 100% compliance with all OSHA regulatory requirements, an achievement with far reaching safety and financial implications. There are currently only eight organizations nationally who have achieved VPP status. In addition, Ed’s leadership was instrumental in Stanford Hospital & Clinics recently receiving the “Best Practice Award” for safe patient handling, granted by the Office of Veterans Affairs and Administration and the University of South Florida. Safe patient handling is one of the key strategic workers compensation initiatives, in which Ed has over 8 years of implementation experience.
Ed currently serves as the senior director of risk management controls and education for Stanford University Medical Center. Before joining Stanford, Edward was the vice president of risk management for Palmetto Health Trust Services Ltd., based in South Carolina., which provides comprehensive risk management services to participating South Carolina hospitals in medical malpractice and workers’ compensation.
Edward received a BS in Fire and Safety Engineering and an MS in Loss Prevention and Safety from Eastern Kentucky University. Ed is also a certified safety professional.
